Born and raised in the small, country town of Gordon, GA (Wilkinson Co.) in the early 90’s, it was instilled at an early age to always choose the route that pleased me, rather than the route that’s most traveled. I was raised by a strong, independent, black woman- so although I’m the face of male empowerment, I’m also all for female empowerment.
I graduated from Georgia Southern University and to this day I’m still not where I want to be in life, however, I’ve taken the focus off me for a while because there’s still a lot of people worse off than me. It’s not all about me, it’s about US as a whole- my life has served its purpose if I’m able to jump start younger generations to realize that their future is just as important to me as my present.
We’ve won plenty of battles but contrary to popular belief, the war is still going on. Slavery and racism still exists, equality is a concept that has been spoken on for entirely too long to not have seen much progress. They say it takes a village to raise a child but in some cases it takes a child to raise a village. I’m coming as GOD’s child and asking the people of my village to finally come together and make the future bright for our predecessors while also pushing for what we deserve!
We’ve came quite a long way but we still have a long way to go! I know it’s not going to happen overnight, but every single step forward is so much better than being stagnant and settling for anything less than we deserve! Be the change or stop complaining, it starts with us!
